My research centres on the financial modelling of strategic business decisions. My expertise is in the areas of corporate finance, business planning, and company valuation. I am a passionate advocate of innovative teaching methods in business education, such as experiential learning, case method, and blended learning. My current focus is on case writing: I have 10+ cases published in peer-reviewed case journals, including the top global journal for cases Case Research Journal by NACRA, the only case journal distributed via Harvard Business Publishing. As case writer, I have received 4 international awards for my cases.
SHORT BIO
I am Associate Professor of Finance and Director of the MSc in Green and Digital Management at the University of Limassol. I hold a BA and MA in Economics from the MGIMO-University, Moscow State Institute of International Relations. It is one of the oldest state-accredited universities in Russia, often referred to as “the Harvard of Russia.” My PhD in Economics was completed at the same school in 1995, and my thesis was in financial derivatives as risk management tools. Prior to my current position at UoL, I worked for CIIM – Cyprus International Institute of Management, on the part-time basis since 2002 and then on the full-time basis since 2011. Overall, I have 25+ years of experience in teaching undergraduate, postgraduate and executive courses at different universities and colleges in Cyprus, UK, Portugal, and Russia. I have an extensive record of publications: initially in Russian (2 books and 50+ articles in Russian academic and business journals between 1995 and 2012), and from 2010 in English. From September 2021, I am also a Board Member of NACRA (North American Case Research Association), and my role for the year 2023 is Vice President of Programs & Conference Chair for the NACRA Annual Meeting in San Antonio, Texas, USA.
